Help & FAQ

Answers about countdowns, saved data, time zones, sharing and reminders.

How do I create a countdown?

Open the home page, enter a title and target date and time, and choose the display you prefer. Use My countdowns to find saved entries, pin the ones you use most, or archive older ones.

Where are my saved countdowns?

Saved entries and goal check-ins belong to the browser profile and device where you created them. They do not sync through an account. Use the same browser and site address to find them. Private browsing, clearing site data or a browser cleanup can remove records; the site cannot restore deleted local data.

Why does a time look different?

Check your device clock and the time zone shown on the page. You can choose a preferred time zone using the site’s time-zone control. Events may use the organizer’s time zone, while a shared countdown preserves a specific moment. Daylight saving time can change the number of hours between calendar dates.

What can people see when I share?

A share link includes the countdown title, target time and theme, not your full saved list or goal check-in notes. Anyone with the link can open or forward it. Removing a saved entry does not disable a previously shared link. Use a neutral title if you do not want a personal detail to be public.

Why did my reminder not appear?

Allow notifications for this site in your browser and device settings, and keep the site open while the timer runs. Sleeping devices and background-tab restrictions can delay reminders. If you reopen an expired timer, the site shows a completion notice instead of sending a late desktop notification.

How do I remove my local data?

In your browser’s settings, find the stored site data for countdown.cv and clear it. This removes saved countdowns, goals, check-ins and preferences for that browser. Save anything you need elsewhere first. You can separately revoke notification permission in site settings.
