Working days calculator

Count working and rest days in a date range with custom weekly rest days, days off and extra working dates. Saturdays and Sundays are excluded by default; public holidays are not built in.

Times are shown in UTC until your local time zone is detected. You can also choose a time zone.

The calendar highlights the range between both dates. The option below controls whether the end date is counted.

Currently includes the start date and excludes the end date. Identical dates count as 0 days.

By default, working days are Monday through Friday. Public holidays and special working weekends are not applied automatically. Add dates from your own calendar.

How date differences are counted

Start with the weekly rest-day rule, deduct additional days off that fall on working days, then add extra working dates that fall on rest days. Dates already classified the same way are not counted twice.

For example, January 1–8, 2026 counts as 7 days by default, or 8 when the end date is included. February 29 is counted in leap years.

Calculations use Gregorian calendar dates without times of day. A calendar day is not always 24 elapsed hours, so counts are not converted into elapsed hours. Initial dates use your local or selected time zone. Once you edit a date, changing the time zone does not change the dates you entered.
